The varsity wrestling team returns 8 starters and 3 seniors from last year’s team. The most notable are Seniors Bryson Hall (17-19), Ryan Slusher (27-11), and Kennan Rue (17-18). All three seniors are returning District Qualifiers and Ryan is a returning Sectional Champion. The team also returns 2 other juniors that were District Qualifiers from the 07-08 seasons, Jared Burgdorf and Caleb Megie.
Last season the varsity team had an 8-4 dual meet record. The team finished in fourth place at the FAVC tournaments and was second at the M.I.T. last year. This season the team has a goal of winning the FAVC league title.
NEWS/EVENTS
After a slow start the varsity team has won its last 2 dual matches. We beat Hamilton 30-27 the last round at the Harrison Tournament and Friday night we beat Sycamore 48-24.
This weekend the varsity will be competing in the annual Coaches Classic at Oak Hills High School. Wrestling begins at 5:30 Friday and resumes at 10:00 Saturday morning. Hope to see everyone there.
