For the third consecutive season, the Milford High School senior duo of Nathan Arnold and Aaron Wade have qualified for the OHSAA District Championships. The duo will compete in Thursday's district meet at Beavercreek Golf Club after each scored high enough at last week’s sectional tournament to punch their ticket.
The format of the tournament annually awards berths in the OHSAA Southwest District Tournament to all members of the top-four squads in the team results as well as the top-four individual players not on qualifying teams. The Milford duo qualified via the latter as Arnold tied for ninth with a 77 and Wade finished tied for 11th just one stroke behind. As a team, the Eagles narrowly missed qualifying as they finished fifth, just four strokes off the fourth place score of Moeller.
For the day, Lakota East (306), Mason (311), Loveland (313) and Moeller (315) earned team qualifying slots. The other two golfers joining Arnold and Wade as qualifiers were Sycamore’s Alex Jones (T-2nd, 74) and Kings’ Matthew Shumar (T-9th, 77).
