Congratulations to long-time Milford pitching coach and former MLB player Doug Bair who was recently chosen as the top Cincinnati Reds player of all-time to wear jersey number 40. One player was chosen for each number among over a century of players and Bair was named the best in No. 40.
The right-handed reliever had a 3.73 ERA and 50 saves in 220 games with the Reds from 1978-81. Bair also pitched for Pittsburgh, Oakland, St. Louis, Detroit, Philadelphia and Toronto in a career that spanned 1976-1990 and featured 584 career appearances.
