Dear Soccer Enthusiast:


Welcome to the Milford Soccer Family! You are invited to join a fierce and competitive soccer program dedicated to developing the champion in all of us. Please look over all of the information on this handout. It details the voluntary workouts that are designed to help you reach your maximum potential. All workouts are 100% voluntary and your attendance will be monitored.

General Information

  • All summer workouts will be held at MHS; please park/drop off/pick up along Eagles Way or in front of the cafeteria unless otherwise instructed.
  • All summer workouts are voluntary but highly encouraged. These summer workouts provide the functional base for a successful season.
  • Always bring water, running shoes, cleats, shin guards, appropriate workout attire.
  • The workouts are meant to be hard, but skipping them will only make them harder. You are expected to work hard at every workout. Not working hard will question your commitment to the team.
  • Cost for summer participation is $30.00 which includes all tournament fees, referee fees, and three summer workout shirts.

Workout Dates

  • WEIGHT ROOM SIGNUPS WILL OCCUR AFTER SCHOOL ON 5/16 and 5/18
  • 5/18 in A21 for rising 10th, 11th, 12th graders
  • 5/16 in jr high café for rising 9th graders
  • Mondays and Thursdays – weightroom, pick one time – 1:15 hour (5:30-6:45, 6:15-7:30, 7:00-8:15)
  • Wednesdays – Conditioning, LSA, Sprints, Ball Mastery – 5:30-8:00 p.m.

Goalkeeper Training

  • Wednesdays – 7:00-8:00 p.m.

Scrimmage/Tournament Dates/Team Camp

1. Troy Pre Season Shootout: July 10-11, Troy, Ohio. 2 teams (10,11,12th grades – 2 teams, transportation not provided)
2. Mason Preseason Classic: July 22-24, Mason, Ohio. 1 team (9th grade – 1 team, transportation not provided)
3. Oak Hills Summer Scrimmage: 4:30pm, July 19, @ Milford. (3 teams – transportation not provided)

Tryout Dates and INFO
Tryouts for the 2016 soccer season will be held August 1st and August 2nd at Miami Meadows Park. On Monday, August 1st there will be 2 sessions; 8 a.m.-11 a.m. and 6 p.m.-8 p.m.
On Tuesday, August 2nd there will be one session; 8 a.m.-11 a.m.
Every player will be notified via phone of their possible selection by midafternoon on August 2nd.

SUMMER DETAILS

Workout Dates

  • June: 1,2,6,8,9,13,15,16, 20, 22, 23, 27, 29,30
  • July: 6,7,11,13,14,18,21
  • ***All days, times, and locations are subject to change depending on unforeseen circumstances as decided upon by the coaching staff, MHS AD, and/or MHS School Board. We have tried very hard to eliminate the need to make changes to this schedule.
  • Mondays and Thursdays – weightroom – 1:15 hours (3 sessions: 5:30-6:45, 6:15-7:30, 7:00-8:15)
  • Each athlete will choose one time period for the Monday/Thursday workouts and attend during that time period
    throughout the summer.
  • M/Th workouts require the athlete to wear appropriate workout attire, running shoes, and water.
  • Wednesdays – Conditioning, LSA, Sprints, Ball Mastery – 5:30-8:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday workouts are meant to be long and grueling. It is highly recommended that the athlete be properly hydrated and “fueled up.” The athlete should bring with them running shoes, appropriate workout attire, cleats, shin guards, soccer socks, and water.

Goalkeeper Training

  • Wednesdays – 7:00-8:00 p.m. Please bring the appropriate gear. This may include gloves, gk shorts, gk pants, and/or gk jersey.

“Off Week”

  • July 24th July-31st
  • Athletes should use this time to rest, relax, and recover from the summer workouts. It is recommended that the athlete trains 3x/week (30-45 minutes) of running, biking, yoga, swimming during the off week to maintain cardiovascular fitness.

Cost for Summer Participation
Each player will be asked to pay $30.00 for summer participation. This fee pays for the entrance fee to the summer tournaments, referee fees for our home scrimmage, and 3 summer workout shirts that the players get to keep.
