Due to unplayable field conditions at Charity J. Lucas Soccer Stadium, the Milford boys soccer team will delay its season opener until Thursday, Aug. 25 at 7 p.m. at Lakota East. It will also travel to Hamilton on Aug. 27 for a 4 p.m. game.

The matchup against Monroe, originally slated for Friday, Aug. 18, will be played on Monday, Sept. 19 at 7 p.m.

SETTING THE SCENE: The Eagles look to All-ECC first-team senior, Pierce Turner, who scored five goals from his defender position last season. He will be joined by last year’s leading scorer, senior Cole Dunham, who topped the squad and was sixth in the ECC with 19 points scored this season on the strength of eight goals and three assists.

A LOOK BACK: Milford finished its 2015 season with a 10-8-1 overall record, while placing fourth in the ECC at 4-3-0. The postseason saw the Eagles advance to the sectional finals before falling to Mason, ranked No. 2 in Ohio in the final OSSCA State Poll.

POLL WATCH: Milford received three votes in the Division I preseason coaches’ poll, sponsored by the Cincinnati Enquirer. Mason is ranked first after receiving 12 first-place votes, followed by the ECC’s Anderson in second and St. Xavier in third. Lakota West and Moeller round out the top-five.
