SETTING THE SCENE: The Milford High School boys golf team will be playing for a third consecutive Eastern Cincinnati Conference Championship when the Eagles take to the Glenview Golf Course for the annual conference tournament on Thursday. Tee time is set for 8 a.m. With a win in the ECC’s Preseason Tourney and a 6-0 league record during the regular season, the Eagles should be among the favorites to win the championship again. Reigning ECC Player of the Year Nathan Arnold leads the league this fall with a 37.1 average.

A LOOK BACK: Sept. 19 vs. Colerain: The Eagles kept their momentum going with a big 140-175 win over Colerain on Sept. 19 at Deer Track Golf Course.
Sept. 20 at McNicholas: Milford dropped its first head-to-head dual of the season on Sept. 20 as McNicholas handed the Eagles a 161-167 setback.
Sept. 21 at Anderson: Milford won an exciting match on the links at Legendary Run Golf Course, edging Anderson by a 164-165 score on Sept. 21.
Sept. 22 vs. Loveland: Junior Cameron Loux earned medalist honors with an incredible round of 35 as the Eagles won an Eastern Cincinnati Conference showdown with Loveland on Sept. 22 at Deer Track Golf Course. The win was far from easy as the Eagles edged the Tigers by just a single stroke (148-149).
Sept. 26 vs. Walnut Hills: Milford wrapped up the regular season a perfect 6-0 against Eastern Cincinnati Conference foes, cruising by Walnut Hills by a 145-179 score on Sept. 26 at Deer Track.
INSIDE THE ECC: The Eagles head into the 2016 Eastern Cincinnati Conference Tournament with a solid chance of repeating as league champions for the third straight year after closing the regular season 6-0 in head-to-head league play. The ECC Championship is determined by a combination of team’s finish in the ECC Preseason and Postseason Tournaments as well as victories in head-to-head dual meets against conference opponents.
Individually, the Eagles feature three of the league’s top-ranked golfers in seniors Nathan Arnold (1st-37.1 average) and Aaron Wade (4th-38.2) and sophomore Justin Horn (7th-40.5).
POLL WATCH: The Eagles were voted fifth in the area in the final Cincinnati Enquirer area coaches’ poll that was released on Sept. 26. Lakota East was crowned the poll champions for this year with nine of the 14 cast first place votes. St. Xavier took second with the other five No. 1’s, with Mason and Elder making up the rest of the top five. The ECC was also represented by Loveland in sixth and Kings, Turpin and Anderson all receiving votes. The final poll of the season can be viewed at preps.cincinnati.com/coachespolls.
