SETTING THE SCENE: The Milford High School girls golf team will tie a bow around the regular season this week as the Eagles take on Loveland, the 2016 Eastern Cincinnati Conference Champions on Tuesday. The Eagles are coming off a third place finish at last week’s ECC Tournament and will take on the Tigers in one final preparation for the OHSAA Sectionals, set for Oct. 4 at Walden Ponds Golf Course.

A LOOK BACK: Sept. 20 at Kings: Casey Broxterman and Bre Severns each fired rounds of 48 to lead Milford to a win over Kings on Sept. 20 at the Bel-Wood Country Club. The Eagles took the win by a 197-209 score over the Knights.
Sept. 22 at ECC Championship: Milford placed third at the 2016 Eastern Cincinnati Conference Championship Tournament, which was held on Sept. 22 at Walden Ponds. Junior Casey Broxterman was the top finisher for the Eagles placing fourth overall with a score of 92. Walnut Hills’ Katie Hallinan ran away with medalist honors with a score of 69, but Loveland took the team title as Alejandra Bonet (77) and Lindsey Bachmann (81) placed second and third, respectively.
INSIDE THE ECC: With wins in both the preseason and postseason tournaments, Loveland has wrapped up the 2016 Eastern Cincinnati Conference Girls Golf Championship. The regular season concludes this week in anticipation of the OHSAA Sectionals next week.
Individually, the Eagles have two players ranked inside the top-10 of the ECC scoring leaders with junior Casey Broxterman sixth with a 47.9 average and sophomore Bre Severns 10th with a 49.1 average.
POLL WATCH: The Eagles did not receive any votes in the final edition of the Cincinnati Enquirer Division I coaches’ poll, released on Sept. 26. Ursuline was crowned the poll champion with nine of the 12 first place votes cast. Sycamore took second with the other three votes, with Lakota West, Mason and McAuley rounding out the top-five. Loveland was ninth in the final rankings with Turpin of the ECC also receiving votes. The final coaches’ poll can be viewed at preps.cincinnati.com/coachespolls.
