The Milford High School girls water polo squad wrapped up its 2015 campaign over the weekend at the 31st Ohio High School State Water Polo Championships, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University. By splitting its four matches of the weekend, the Eagles earned a fifth place finish in Ohio.
Milford got off to a fast start, topping Sylvania by an 11-3 score in its opener, before beginning group play. The start to group play wasn’t as kind to the Eagles as the No. 4 seed were upset by fifth-seeded Worthington 8-7 in overtime. Milford then fell to the eventual state champs from Upper Arlington by a 13-1 count. With fifth place on the line, Milford matched up with area rival and third-seed Mason, coming out on the right side of a 10-9 score.
The Eagles finished the season with a final record of 19-14-2.
